I have been left as the caretaker of two mustangs and need to find a place for them as I can not continue to pay for their board/feed.
#1 – approx. 13 year old mare. She was my ex-son-in-laws horse and has been sent to 3 BLM trainers who have been unable to sufficiently gentle her. She is living 24/7 in a 12 x 36 pen (because she paces) She is extremely frightened of everything and it was long ago recommended she be placed in sanctuary or euthanized.
#2 – approx. 8 yr old grey gelding. Somewhat gentle, however, was a BLM repossession for abuse and is not able to get beyond his abuse. I do not have the experience to work him.
I have 4 horses of my own I am boarding since we lost our home 2 years ago. One has cataracts and will soon be blind. She is very bonded to the 3 horse that has been left and therefore I am trying to afford to keep her. This will leave me with 5 I am boarding/feeding.
My son-in-law had been helping some, but, soon, I am going to have no choice but to relinquish them to Animal Control for the abandonment as I can not afford to keep them any longer. I am already behind in board.
Any assistance would be appreciated.
I am even willing to take the mare back if I am able to rent a house that will accommodate her. I am hoping to move in January.
