Return to Freedom is a non-profit wild horse sanctuary founded in 1997 by Neda DeMayo, and is the realization of her life-long dream: to protect the freedom and natural lifestyle of America’s free ranging wild horses.
Our Mission: Return To Freedom is dedicated to preserving the freedom, diversity and habitat of America’s wild horses through sanctuary, education and conservation, while enriching the human spirit through direct experience with the natural world.

I love animals of all kinds, from the smallest bird to enormous whales, but mainly horses are my passion. After reading through all of the stories with animals needing loving homes, I feel like I have to do something. Something like to start volunteering at the local animal shelter to place unwanted dogs & cats into good homes. Everything RTF is doing for these animals is just truely inspiring, and maybe we should give back to the animals by helping them and saving them. Thank you RTF for your dedication and hardwork you do for the animals.
Thank you Jamie! Volunteering at your local animal shelter is a wonderful way to make a difference in the lives of animals.
All the best,
Jill Anderon
Return to Freedom
Thank you so much for making a difference – so many of us want to help.
If every person who loves horses / mustangs and felt a cry in their heart to help – If they could ALL contribute as little as $1 or $10 or …. can you imagine the difference…!!!
I’ve spent the last 10 minutes looking through your web site to see where the donation link was… but can’t find it.
It’s by His great design that we are so heart felt & passionate for the “fish of the sea, birds of the air and all the creatures of the land” (whom we’ve been given charge of, Genesis 1:26)
PLEASE have your web-builder talk with a savvy marketing designer. The very little bit of information I have breaks my heart; wild herd reductions from 25k to 13k in just past year. What are the statistics of our national treasures (mustangs) going to slaughter? How many are in “holding pens”? How many …..
In any event, please let me contribute – a little now, a little later.
Greatfully, Stephanie
Hi Stephanie,
We are working on updating our site. In the meantime, the statistics and information you seek about wild horses can be found on our campaign website http://www.wildhorsepreservation.com. Thank you also for inquiring about donating. Our donation button on our site is under the “how to help” tab or at the bottom of the home page. Thanks so much for your generosity and compassion.
